Dr Gladman graduated from Flinders University. Since graduation, he worked in Tamworth and Broken Hill. In Broken Hill, he worked with the RFDS and the local hospital. Prior to studying medicine, Dr Gladman worked in research and spent time in the Army.

He is a Senior Lecturer with Adelaide University Rural Clinic School and a committee member with the Australian Medical Council. He is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner and accredited with Australian Motorsport.
