Practice Nurse (Maternity Leave Contract)

Hawkins Medical Clinic has availability for two 0.6 FTE practice nurses to join our team. We are looking for self-motivated, approachable, compassionate and friendly individuals to provide nursing support to our large group of GPs. This is a perfect opportunity to dip your toes into Primary healthcare.

We have a strong team environment, and are committed to providing high quality patient centred whole of life care.

Working with our clinical team you will have the opportunity to perform a large variety of clinical work including immunisations, triage of emergencies, chronic disease management and education and wound care.

Professional development opportunities are supported and encouraged.
You will be registered with AHPRA as either an enrolled or registered nurse, and hold a current Working With Children Check. Your communication and people skills will be of great interest as will your capacity to coordinate and organise yourself and others. A passion for primary Healthcare, and further education in the area would be an advantage.

Hours: Two 0.6FTE positions available. Hours of work between 8am and 6pm. Saturday mornings by rotation.

General Practitioner(s) – Full time or part time

The Position

A vacancy exists for one or more general practitioners in our large private GP practice due to practice expansion. No hospital work required unless the GP chooses to admit as private. The practice provides afterhours GP sessions each evening (usual 1 weeknight in 3/52 and 5 weekends per year). Participation in the after-hours roster can be flexible. Mount Gambier is supported by numerous resident specialists and allied health. Mount Gambier is big enough to provide city facilities yet small enough to park at the front door or go home for lunch. Enjoy a country lifestyle minutes from the city or city dwelling (multi story apartments, townhouses or single dwelling houses) with access to restaurants, theatres and great sporting facilities. Close to the Coonawarra wine region and the majestic Glenelg River.

Mount Gambier is a large regional centre in South Australia part way between Adelaide and Melbourne. Daily flights to both Adelaide and Melbourne are available enabling quick access to the city.
